OSWEGO – April 9, 2024,
Grace A. Brancato, 86, of Oswego died Tuesday April 9, 2024 in the Oswego Hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Brancato was born in Cape Vincent NY, the daughter of the late Edwin and Edna (Bishop) Lawrence. Mrs. Brancato in her younger years worked at Coffee Cove, in Clayton NY and while moving to Oswego began working as a cook at the Press Box, Oswego, where she worked for many years. Mrs. Brancato was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks, and she was a communicant of Christ the Good Shepherd.
Mrs. Brancato is survived by her husband James L. Brancato of Oswego, stepchildren James H. (Joanne Galletta) Brancato of Palermo; Jamie Jo (Charles) Cooney of Camillus; Timothy Brancato of TN; Joel Brancato of Syracuse; Margie Brancato of AZ, and Jeffery (Rachel) Brancato of MA. son Edwin (Migdalia) Lawrence of LaFargeville, and former daughter-in-law Patti Hovork of NC. She is also survived by her siblings Larry (Billie) Lawrence of Omar, NY, Frances (John) Seymour of Black River, and sister-in-law Judy Lawrence of Watertown, and two close nephews Keith and Scott Lawrence, and several grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Brancato was predeceased by her siblings John, Mary, Thomas and Teresa.
Funeral services will be Wednesday April 17, 2024 at 11:00 at CTGS at St. Joseph Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 at CTGS at St. Joseph Church.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th St Oswego.
