OSWEGO – July 15, 2024, James A. “Fergie” Ferguson, 81 of Oswego, NY passed away Monday, July 15th, 2024, at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital, Syracuse, NY after a short illness.
Mr. Ferguson was born in Oswego, NY to the late Robert and Eleanor (Mosher) Ferguson. He has remained a lifetime resident of Oswego. Mr. Ferguson was a United States Veteran having served in the Army from 1961 to 1963. James was past employed with FlexoWire, Oswego and later retired from Ferguson Beach Construction, Scriba, NY. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Oswego, and the Oswego American Legion. In years past Fergie enjoyed hunting and golfing.
He was pre-deceased by his son Gary D. Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his loving wife of 58 years: Georgianna Ferguson of Oswego, and their son and daughter-in-law: James A. and Tammy Ferguson Jr. of Oswego, NY; two grandchildren: James A. Ferguson III and Eric D. Ferguson and two great grandchildren: Ethan J. Ferguson and Rylie B. Ferguson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
There will be no Calling Hours and Burial will be held privately. The Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home Inc., 147 W. 4th St., Oswego, NY has care of the arrangements.
