OSWEGO – July 16, 2024, Jay T. Downs, 69; of Oswego passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego, NY; after a long illness.
He was born to Thomas and Beverley (Cole) Downs and Jay remained a longtime resident of the area. Mr. Downs was previously employed with Armstrong Co., Fulton. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sharing these sports with his young son. He was a true avid outdoorsman. In his later years, Jay enjoyed friendship and community with the River of Life Church, in Oswego, NY.
Mr. Downs is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Tammy Downs of Colorado, his two granddaughters, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego, NY.
