OSWEGO – February 18, 2025, John M. Fitzsimmons, 69; of Oswego, NY passed away peacefully at Oswego Hospital, Oswego, NY after a short illness. John was born in Oswego, NY to the late Francis and Edna (Solazzo) Fitzsimmons. He remained a lifetime resident of Oswego, NY. Mr. Fitzsimmons retired from Alstom Power, Switzerland, as a Turbine Technician. He was an avid golfer at Tamarack Golf Course, Scriba, NY, a member of the Oswego Moose Lodge #743 and Oswego V.F.W. Post #5885. John was a die-hard fan of the NY Yankees even brandishing a tattoo of the Yankees’ emblem on his forearm. John was inducted into the Oswego City and the NYS Softball Halls of Fame. He loved pitching for numerous city teams over several decades. He was pre-deceased by his brother Joseph F. Fitzsimmons.
John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: John and Kristin Fitzsimmons Jr. of Penfield, NY; his Life Partner: Linda Lagoe of Oswego, NY; his siblings: James (Marcia) Bevacqua of Oswego, Cathy (Bill) Pullen of Oswego, his sister-in-law: Linda Fitzsimmons of Oswego, his Aunt Fran Solazzo, 2 grandchildren: Benjamin and Levi Fitzsimmons and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be held privately.
There will be no Calling Hours.
