OSWEGO – Joseph Pauldine, 71, of Ontario, left his body and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.
Born on February 25, 1955, he was the son of Concetta (Gianetto) Pauldine and Ralph V. Pauldine. He graduated from Oswego High School in 1973 and went on to earn an associate degree in music from Onondaga Community College in 1989.
Joseph dedicated over forty years of his career to the insurance industry, faithfully building a loyal clientele and serving his community with integrity and commitment. He helped plant Believers Chapel and was a worship leader for many years. Most recently, he was a member of the Encounter Church, N. Chili, NY.
Joseph loved the Lord and will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for his wife and family, and his passion for travel, antiques, classic cars, and sharing his love of cooking. As an Italian, food was more than nourishment; it was an expression of love, a way to gather others around the table in fellowship. He took pride in making his pasta sauce from scratch and harvesting produce from his own garden, simple pleasures that reflected his heritage and brought him deep joy and fulfillment.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Gia (Riccelli) Pauldine of Ontario; his children, Jeremy Pauldine and Julianna (Duston) Zabala; his grandchildren, Maya and Maddux; his siblings, Mary (Kevin) Plummer, Ralph (Denise) Pauldine, Anthony Pauldine, Michael Pauldine, and James (Cathy) Pauldine; and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, John Pauldine; his father, Ralph V. Pauldine; and his mother, Concetta (Gianetto) Pauldine.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Calling hours will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2026, followed by home-going services at 11 a.m. at Elim Grace Church, 340 W. 1st St., Oswego. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St., Oswego.
