Josephine L. Price, 91

OSWEGO, NY – Josephine L. Price, 91, of Oswego, died peacefully Saturday November 3, 2012, at her home.

She was the wife of the late Norman Price who died June 6, 2002.

Mrs. Price was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmela (Ditota) Losurdo.

She was a graduate of the local schools and the International Correspondence School of the University of Scranton, Pa., with a stenographic/secretarial degree.

Mrs. Price worked for 12 years in the in the office at Ames Iron Works and for 27 years at SUNY Oswego retiring in 1986 as secretary to the vice president of students.

She taught the refresher shorthand course in the adult evening program for 15 years.

Mrs. Price served two three-year terms as a member of the city of Oswego Zoning Board of Appeals.

She enjoyed sewing, flower gardens and bowling, serving as secretary for nine years in the Capitol Woman’s League.

She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Scandura of Rhode Island; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Price was predeceased by sisters, Natalie Zoni, Carmelina Zoni, Mary Sanford and Anne Sheldon; brothers, Joseph, Sam and James Losurdo.

Funeral services will be Thursday 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gregory Kreinheder.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.

Calling hours will be Wednesday 4 – 6 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
