Josephine Ottman, 88

OSWEGO, NY – Josephine Ottman, 88, of North Syracuse, died Friday May 1, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Ottman was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Santo and Santa (Occhino) Struallo.

She remained a lifetime resident of the area living in Oswego, Baldwinsville, Phoenix, and North Syracuse.

Mrs. Ottman was a former employee of Con-Knitting Mill, Oswego, McDonald’s Dresses, Oswego, A&P Grocery in Phoenix and Baldwinsville, and Fay’s Drug Store in Baldwinsville.

She was a volunteer at the Food Bank of CNY and a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego, St. Mary’s Church, Baldwinsville, St. Stephen’s Church, Phoenix and The Living Word, Syracuse.

Mrs. Ottman was predeceased by her husband, Stanley R. Ottman, in 2015; and their children: Robert and Judith Ottman; and her siblings, Genevieve Caroccio, Nancy Purce and Mary Struallo.

She is survived by her eight children: Jo Ann Ottman of LaFayette, NY, James Ottman of Oswego, Carol (William) Mosley of Tennessee , Mary Jo (Daniel) McCarthy of New Mexico, Debra (Robert) Martin of Tennessee, Stanley (Lisa) Ottman of North Syracuse, Mark (Ginny) Ottman of New Jersey and Matthew (Diane) Ottman of New Mexico; her siblings, Anna Segretto, Joseph (Pat) Struallo and Charles Regano all of Oswego; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St. S., Oswego, with Rev. John Carter officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 4 – 7 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
