FULTON – August 25, 2026, June Vescio Johnston, 92; of Fulton, NY passed after a short illness Tuesday August 25th, 2026, in the early morning at Oswego Hospital, Oswego, NY.

June was born in Fulton, NY to the late Angelo and Rosina (Crai) Vescio.  She remained a resident of Fulton, NY for most of her life.  In 1994, June retired after a 27-year career from SUNY College at Oswego, NY  where she was the Director of Publications and Printing.  She was a member of the United University Professions, the Fulton Women’s Club and ABWA:  American Business Woman’s Association.  June was also a member and volunteer with the Oswego County Historical Society, A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and a former trustee and volunteer for Person-to-Person Advocacy, Fulton.  Her passion was cooking.  Many family and friends benefited from the wonderful dishes she shared.

June was pre-deceased by her husband of 32 years:  Richard Johnston in 2008.  She was the last remaining child of Angelo and Rosina having been pre-deceased by her siblings:  Carmen, Tony, Frank, Philip, Angelo “Ace,” Peter, Joseph and Sam Vescio and Angelina Talamo, Eleanor McGraw and Rose Clark.

Mrs. Johnston is survived by her godson:  Nathan (Bianca) Stoughtenger, her brothers and sisters-in-law:  Robert Johnston and Jerry (Joyce) Johnston and Nancy (Jimmy) Boyd; her very dear friend Cathy Trowbridge, special caretakers:  Lori Clark and Kim Becker and several nieces and nephews.

A private Graveside Service and Burial was held in the morning, Saturday, August 29th, 2026; at Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY with Pastor Bill Ormsby of the Fulton Christian Fellowship Church, Fulton officiating.

There were no Calling Hours.

The Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of the arrangements.
