OSWEGO – Katherine Ilene (Ferriter) Enright passed away on July 7, 2026 at 87 years old.
Kathy resided most of her life in the Oswego area, graduating from Oswego High school where she was the prom queen and had been awarded a prestigious college scholarship for her artwork. Her decades of work at McDonald’s Fashions as a bridal consultant brought her immense satisfaction. After the store’s closing, Kathy worked at Macy’s Department store until her retirement in 2017. Aside from her lifelong passion for art, Kathy enjoyed gallivanting, socializing, photography, birding, genealogy working at the Maritime Museum and was a prolific reader. For many years, she assisted with creating the annual Christmas window displays at an Oswego bank. For Kathy’s 60th birthday, she thoroughly enjoyed a working tall ship cruise on the HMS Rose out of Nova Scotia.
Surviving Kathy are her children: Mary (Dave Nacamuli) Enright of Tennessee, Kellye (Brian) Lonberger of Virginia, and Kathy (Raymond) Wallis of Mexico, NY. Her grandchildren Crystal (Jonathan) Taets, Patrick Lonberger, Kara (Dylan) Radford, Gregory Yogan, and Kelsey Wallis. Her great-grandchildren Elizabeth Taets, John Patrick “Jack” Taets, Ellie Wallis, and Wilbur “Wil” Radford were a constant joy to her as was her beloved cat, Miss Kitty. Also surviving are son-in-law Gary Yogan and her siblings Lawrence (Shelia) Ferriter, Janice Leonard, Susan Ferriter, Mary Jeanne (Edwin) Lapeta, and sister-in-law Patsy Ferriter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, William Donald and Leona G. (Rowlee) Ferriter, her husband, R. Patrick Enright, and her daughter Teresa Yogan as well as her siblings Gerald Ferriter, Michael Ferriter, Marge Gantley, Frances Davis, and Elizabeth Baldwin.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made in her name to Beaver Lake Nature Center (www.BeaverLakeNature.org), her favorite place to bring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to.
Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Oswego, NY.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego, NY.
