Keith Egnew

OSWEGO – Keith Egnew, 96, of Oswego died Sunday October 15, 2023 in Seneca Hill Manor after a short illness.

Mr. Egnew was born in Watertown, NY the son of the late Burton and Gladys (Dimick) Egnew. He worked at Alcan for over twenty years as an electrician. Mr. Egnew left high school to proudly serve in the United States Army during World War II from 1945 until 1946, and later returned to high school to graduate, upon graduation he re-enlisted and served during the Korean War from 1951 until 1953. He was a former member of the American Legion and VFW.

Mr. Egnew was predeceased by his wife Jean Egnew in 2018, his children Dale, and Penny, grandson Keith Egnew, and his siblings Edward, Kay, Peter, and Joan.

Mr. Egnew is survived by his children Merry (Ray) Hauver of West Leyden; Brian (Mary) Egnew of West Leyden; David Egnew of West Leyden; stepdaughter and caregiver Kathleen (Robert) Ruggio of Oswego, stepchildren Vincent (Betty) LaQuire, and Kim Ellingwood, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.

Calling hours will be Friday prior to the services from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at the funeral home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
