PORT CHARLOTTE, FL – Lorayne Brown Ives, formally of Fulton, NY passed away on March 5, 2024 at her home, surrounded by family. She was a wonderful Wife, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
Lorayne was the daughter of Robert and Etta Brown. she was preceded in death by her sister Kathryn Hillick.
Lorayne whom everyone knew as Lori was a graduate of Ferguson high School in Missouri. After graduating from high school, Lori attended the University of Maryland, Munich, Germany campus.
Lori worked for the Fulton school District for 35 years. After retiring, she lived in Florida for 20 years.
Collecting antiques, bowling with her girlfriends, watching the New York Yankees, supporting Syracuse University sports and raising numerous dogs were what Lori enjoyed doing. She will always be remembered for being a great friend to so many people. She enjoyed being with people and helping those in need.
Lori is survived by her husband of 60 years, Peter Ives, her loving son, known as her favorite son, Darin (Monica) Ives, her two brothers Robert Brown of The Villages in Florida and Thomas (Suzanne) Brown of Fulton, NY.
Those closest to her knew her as Oma, these were her grandchildren, Zak (Lindsay) Ives, Trevor (Ellie) Ives, Valerie (Jared) LaCelle, Jesse (Sydney) Ives, her great grandchildren, Ryot, Emmitt, Kai, Adeline, Zander, Levi, Everley, and Liana. she is also survived by a number of nephews and nieces
In following Lori’s request, there will be no services. A celebration of her life will be held this summer in Fulton, New York.
