Mary Ann Bonanno Nichol, 73

FULTON, NY – Mary Ann Bonanno Nichol, 73, formerly of Fulton, NY, peacefully went home to God Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Francis House, Syracuse, NY.

She was born in Fulton, to the late Joseph and Ida (Cutuli) Bonanno.

Mrs. Nichol has been a resident of Syracuse, and Hancock, NY, for most of her life.

She was a 1963 graduate of Oswego Catholic High School, Oswego, and a graduate of CCBI, Syracuse.

Mrs. Nichol worked with the Automobile Club of Western and Central NY as a travel counselor for 30+ years.

She was a member of The Red Hats, Onondaga Hill Branch, Onondaga Seniors, and the Italian American Club.

Mrs. Nichol enjoyed extensive world traveling including cruises.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Nichol, in 1997.

Mary Ann is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Rosemary Bonanno of Fulton; her two stepsons: Robert W. Nichol of West Monroe, NY, and John P. Nichol of Syracuse; her niece: Marie (Robert) Lagowski of Fulton; her nephew: Joseph (Michelle) Bonanno of Cato, NY; five grandchildren: Patricia, Kyle, Christopher, Benjamin and Joshua; three great-grandchildren: Domenic, Darrius and Wyatt; two great-nephews: Joseph and Andrew; and her dear family and friends in Fulton, Syracuse and Hancock who have been wonderful in friendship, traveling companions and simply devoted to Mary Ann through the good years and more currently during her heroic fight with cancer.

A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at St. Margaret’s Church, 203 Roxboro Road, Mattydale, NY, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Robert Hyde.

Burial will be held in the spring at Riverview Cemetery, Hancock.

Mary Ann was so thankful for the care she received from her family and friends and then in partnership with Francis House, that her wish in lieu of flowers would be that contributions be made to the Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave., Syracuse, NY, so that others may receive such wonderful end of life care.
