Maureen F. Tucker

OSWEGO – Maureen F. Tucker, 94; of Oswego, NY, died Sunday, July 19^th, 2026, peacefully surrounded by her family.

“Our Angel Lady Got Her Wings.” Mrs. Tucker was born in Oswego, NY to the late John and Helen (Tobin) Fitzgerald.  She remained a lifetime resident of Oswego and enjoyed wintering in Fort Myers Beach, Florida for over 40 years.  Mrs. Tucker began working as a young girl at Barbeau Photography, Oswego.  She was a secretary at the F.W. Tucker & Son, Oswego.  Mrs. Tucker was an active communicant for decades at St. Mary’s Church, Oswego, and a member of the St. Mary’s Sodality Women Organization, a past member of the Oswego Catholic High School Board and a member of the Oswego Country Club.  She enjoyed spending summers at the family camp at Ramona Beach on Lake Ontario, NY and spending time with her friends in NY and Fort Myers Beach, FL during the winter months.  Mrs. Tucker was a fantastic card player enjoyed games like Bridge, Michigan Rummy, Dominoes, Spite and Malice.  Mrs. Tucker’s favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.  Family was her priority.  Maureen was pre-deceased by her husband Edward Tucker Sr. in 1991 and their infant daughter.

Mrs. Tucker is survived by her children:  Edward (Mary Anne) Tucker Jr. of Oswego and Mary Helen Clark of Cicero, NY; her 7 grandchildren:  Susan (David) Kramer, Jennifer (Charlie) Tucker Locke, Michelle Clark, Katie Clark, Edward (Sara) Tucker, Steven Clark and Paul (Allie Glassman) Clark; her 6 great grandchildren:  Daniel Kramer, Jason Kramer, Charlotte Locke, Tucker Locke, Casey Locke and Olivia Tucker and several generations of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Tucker was also pre-deceased by her siblings:  Jack Fitzgerald, Ann Jones and Patricia Kuntz.

Calling hours will be Saturday morning September 5, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4^th St Oswego.

Funeral services will be Saturday Sept.5 at 10:00 AM in Christ the Good Shepherd, Oswego.

Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Oswego, NY.

Maureen will always be remembered as a very kind and caring person. She was always the first one to greet you with a smile or ask if you needed anything, and after that they became lifelong friends. She was always there for her friends or anyone who needed help.
