Michael J. Stirushnik

OSWEGO – May 29, 2024, Michael J. Stirushnik, 37; of Phoenix, NY passed after a lengthy illness at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY. 

He was born in Oswego, NY and was a former resident of Fulton, NY.  He has resided in Phoenix, NY for a little over 10 years.  Michael graduated as the class Salutatorian from Hannibal High School, Hannibal, NY.  He went on to college and graduated from SUNY Oswego receiving dual Bachelor Degrees in Computer Science and Linguistics.  He worked as a computer programmer for Raymour & Flanigan, Clay, NY.  Michael enjoyed travelling, especially cruising, and he loved computers.  He was also a music fan and he could play several instruments and previously sang in the chorus. 

Michael was pre-deceased by his paternal grandparents:  John Stirushnik and Irene Lamie; and his maternal grandparents:  Park Gyu Chung and Ha Gyoung Shin. 

Michael is survived by his parents:  Gregory and Kim Stirushnik of Fulton, his three brothers:  Jeffery Stirushnik of Fulton, Nicholas Stirushnik of Fulton, and Christopher Stirushnik of Phoenix, NY.  He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins both here and in Korea. 

Calling Hours will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton. 

A Graveside Service with Burial will be conducted at 10 AM Tuesday at Fairdale Cemetery, Hannibal, NY with Deacon Nick Alvaro officiating.
