Michael W. Gibson

OSWEGO – Michael W. Gibson, 70, of Oswego died Friday October 31, 2025 at the Oswego Hospital.

Michael was born in Oswego, the son of the late John and Lenora (Thurston) Gibson. He was employed with Nestle’s as a maintenance mechanic for thirty years until his retirement, and he continued his career working Welch Construction Co., and Novelis Aluminum. Michael enjoyed watching hockey, NASCAR, football, working in his garage, and  woodworking to create beautiful projects.  He loved and admired his sons Michael Jr. and Joseph, and was proud of them and their accomplishments.  The love and pride he had for his grandchildren was immeasurable.  He enjoyed watching them participate, learn and excel on athletic teams and in academics.

He was predeceased by his son Michael W. Gibson Jr.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Connie Gibson of Oswego; his son Joseph (Ellen) Gibson of Oswego; stepchildren Renee (Dan) Smith of Vernon Center; Michael (Jennifer) Baum of Hastings; his three grandchildren Mia Gibson, Liam Gibson, and Karley Smith.  He is also survived by his siblings Tim (Margaret) Gibson of Minetto; Nora Malone of Oswego; Donna (Bob) Adams of FL; John Gibson Jr. of Oswego; Tammy (Gene) Hulburt of Smithboro, and George Gibson of Oswego.

In accordance with Michaels’ wishes services and burial in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery will be private.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4^th. St. Oswego.
