Patricia Cooper Maxon

FULTON – Patricia Cooper Maxon passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2026 after a brief illness.

She was born on December 10, 1941 in Liverpool NY, to the late Manford and Eleanor (Ames) Lehne.  Her family moved to Sterling when she was a young girl.  She married Clarence (Coop) Cooper in 1963 where she raised 2 sons.  Her and her husband ran a successful saw mill business in Fair Haven called Lichenheim Cooperage.  In later years, she built Springbrook Golf Course on the family farm. She was a talented artist who loved creating paintings of people in her life and her community.

Pat is predeceased by her husband’s Clarence Cooper and Fred Maxon.  She is also predeceased by a brother, Manford Lehne, son, Steven Cooper Sr., and grandson, Steven Cooper Jr.

She is survived by her son Curtis (Lisa) Cooper of Sterling, a granddaughter, Jennifer Cooper (Austin TX), grandson Cameron (Caitlin) Cooper of Sterling, great grandchildren, Caroline and Kayce Cooper. She is also survived by a sister, Pricilla “Nikki” (Ron) Kittren and Peter (Brenda) Lehne along with several nieces and nephews.

As per Pat’s wishes, there will be no services.

Burial will be private.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar Funeral Home Inc. 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton.
