FULTON – August 14, 2024, Patricia McNamara Merritt, 95, of Fulton, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 14, 2024, with family by her side.
Pat was born in Fulton to the late Norman and Eleanor (Wenman) McNamara and remained a life resident of Fulton. She attended St. Mary’s School, Fulton High School, and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Syracuse. In her younger years, she was employed at The American Woolen in Fulton and General Electric in Liverpool. She was an active member of The Immaculate Conception Women’s Club and was a volunteer at St. Mary’s School. She enjoyed the sporting events her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren participated in. In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her son Patrick in 2019, her son Chas in 2020, and her brothers, Mick, Hunk, and Joe.
She is survived by her children Mark Merritt of Fulton, Melissa (John ) Bricker of Syracuse, Melinda Merritt of Richmond, VA, and Marybeth (Daniel) Hammond of Cohocton, NY; her brothers Michael and Thomas McNamara of Fulton; her sister Norma (Roland) Broderick of Fulton; her grandchildren Aaron (Lauren) Acome, Christopher (Jennifer) Acome, Anthony Goodman, Kerry (Steve) Tarolli, and Allyson, Karli, and Kara Bricker; her great grandchildren Kelsey, Brennan, Brianne, and Connor Acome, Emily and Olivia Acome, James, Tyler, and Alexander Tarolli, and Arthur Dennison, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, August 18, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. 2nd Street, Fulton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, August 19, at Holy Trinity Parish, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
