Paul J. Ruggio

OSWEGO – Paul J. Ruggio, 66, of Oswego died Tuesday March 26, 2024 in the Oswego Hospital after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Paul was born in Oswego the son of the late Vito “William” and Margaret (DiCecio) Ruggio. He was an armed guard at Entergy Nuclear Power Plant and retired from Exelon Corp. as an armed guard. Paul was an operator at the sewage treatment plant for the city of Oswego for twenty years before becoming a guard. Paul enjoyed going to the movies with his wife and brothers, playing racquetball, tennis, and playing cards with his father. He had great memories traveling to China and Singapore with his wife and cousin Mike. Paul was an avid coin and watch collector. He loved traveling with his family especially when they went to Greece and Italy, and have family gathering, and parties.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Cheryl Ruggio of Oswego and their children Paul (Millicent) Ruggio of Rome, Thomas (Katelynne Hill) Ruggio of Oswego, and Michael (Grace Geno) Ruggio of Oswego, grandsons Oliver and August Ruggio, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his siblings Anne (Charles) Guerra of Whitesboro, Frances (David) Buck of CA, Vita (David) Friedlander of Oswego, William (Ann) Ruggio of Oswego, Vincent (Cheryl Thorpe) Ruggio of Volney, and Margaret “Margie” (John) Hill of Oswego.

Funeral services will be Monday April 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Elim Grace Church.

Burial will be in South Richland Cemetery.

Calling Hours will be Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 at Elim Grace Church prior to the services.

The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
