OSWEGO, NY – Peter R. Walker 71, died Friday October 17, 2014, at his home peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born in Syracuse, the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Trait) Walker.
Mr. Walker was retired from Niagara Mohawk after 30 years of service.
He was predeceased by his brothers, John “Dixie” Walker and Martin Walker.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Jean Walker; and their children, Shannon (Anthony) Walker Seymour of Chicago, Ill., Peter (Nora) Walker of Winchester, Mass., and John Walker of Oswego who assisted with the caregiving for the past six years; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Chloe Walker of Massachusetts.
In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Michael “Joey” Walker of Syracuse, James Walker of Syracuse, Margaret Ann Walker of Syracuse, Mary Fallon of Syracuse and his triplet siblings Sr. Margaret Walker of Pennsylvania and Paul Walker of Virginia.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the Alzheimer’s Association.
