Some of Dick’s other achievements include organizing the NYS Miller Classic Fast Pitch Softball League and the Oswego Softball Hall of Fame, which he was a 1988 inductee and served as president for 25 years. In 2001, Dick was also inducted into the NYS Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame. Dick also volunteered his time having served on the Board of Directors for the Oswego Little League, Oswego Minor Hockey and the Oswego Men’s Softball Assoc.

He was pre-deceased by his daughter: Kelly Mosher. Dick acknowledged that all his amazing accomplishments could not have been possible without the love of his surviving wife of 64 years: Sharon (Babcock) Johnson of Oswego, their children: Richard (Karen) Johnson, Kristyn (Tyrone) Johnson-Neuland, son-in-law: Wayne Mosher; eight grandchildren: Lyndsie (Ken) Jones, Matthew (Mollie) Johnson, Richard (Vinita) Mosher, Amanda (Michael) Kaine, Erik Mosher, Kirsten Johnson, Maddison Neuland and Gavin Neuland; and 11 great grandchildren:  Odin, Arianna, Ethan, Olive, Leo, Ivan, Harper, Elliot, Lavender, Gracie and Finley.
