FULTON – Richard “Doc” DeGroff, 75, of Hannibal died Friday September 19, 2025, at his home after a sudden attack.
Doc was born in Oswego the son of the late Herbert and Lillian (White) DeGroff. He retired from the City of Oswego, where he worked in the recreation department, for thirty-one years. Upon his retirement, to stay busy, he opened a small engine shop where he would repair lawn mowers and snowblowers. Doc always enjoyed going to watch dirt racing, or relaxing at home watching it on TV.
He was predeceased by his wife Julie DeGroff and their granddaughter Alanna DeGroff.
Doc is survived by his sons Ricky (Christine) DeGroff of Baldwinsville, Jeremy (Karin) DeGroff of Hannibal; his siblings Ron (Melissa) DeGroff of Oswego, and Becky DeGroff of Fulton. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Olivia, Brennon, Autumn, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Katherine.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
