Robert Callen, 88

OSWEGO, NY – Robert Callen, 88, of Fulton, died Wednesday May 2, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse.

He was born in Oswego to the late James and Jennie (Seymour) Callen.

Mr. Callen was a resident of Fulton for most of his life.

He was a United States veteran having served in the Marine Corps during World War II stationed in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Callen retired from Sealright Company, Fulton, and he was a past president and vice president of the AFLCIO Union #54.

Mr. Callen was a member of the Fulton VFW Post #569, the US Marine Corps League, Knights of Columbus St. Joseph’s Council #254 and the Ancient Order of the Hibernians.

He was predeceased by one grandson, Jason Clark; and 10 siblings.

Mr. Callen is survived by his wife of 61 years, Flora Cardinali Callen of Fulton; five children, Elizabeth (Robert) Clark of Oswego, Sistine Callen of Fulton, Anne Marie (Joseph) Antinozzi of Connecticut, Robert (Patricia) Callen of Boston, Mass. and Lorraine (Chip) Cole of Oswego; one brother, Charles Callen of Fulton; five grandchildren, Mary Kate (Dave) Stania, Lauren Marie Callen, Emily Mae Cole, Sarah (Bryan) May and Nicole Antinozzi; two great-grandchildren, Elijah House and Trevor May; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be conducted at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.

Fulton VFW Post #569 Honor Guard will bestow military honors.

Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.
