Rose Manasseri, 97

OSWEGO, NY – Rose Manasseri was carried to eternal peace on Tuesday July 15, 2014, from her home in Oswego.

She was 97 years young.

Rose was born to the late Antonio and Catrina Zappala on March 3, 1917, in New York City.

She was an impassioned member of St. Joseph’s Church and the Legion of Mary.

She attended Oswego High School and was a baker at Parkside Nursing Home in Oswego.

She was the loving wife of the late Salvatore Manasseri and mother of the late Betty Jane Manasseri.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Catherine (David) Grove; sons, Anthony (Judy) and John Manasseri; granddaughters, Michelle (Will) Pryor and Karen (Scott) Nesbitt; and great-grandsons Henry and Jack Pryor.

In addition she is survived by her brothers, John (Alice) Zappala and Sam (Genevieve) Zappala; and sister, Angeline Santore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, Oswego.

Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
