FULTON – July 7, 2026, Shirleen P. Carpenter, 86; of Fulton, NY passed at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY after enduring a lengthy illness.
Shirleen was born in Fulton, NY to the late Sophie (Sroka) and John Maurer. She remained a lifetime resident of Fulton, NY. Shirleen was past employed with General Electric, Syracuse, NY. She loved playing BINGO and she never said no to giving support to the local SPCA.
Shirleen was pre-deceased by her son John C. Phelps in 2009 and her brother Frank Maurer. Shirleen is survived by her sons: Robert A. Rogers of Phoenix, NY; Dale S. Rogers of Oswego, NY; and Edward J. Phelps of Fulton, NY; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
There will be a privately held Calling Hour and Funeral Service with Deacon Jeff Dean officiating at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton, NY.
Burial will be conducted privately at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton, NY.
In honor of Shirleen; contributions may be made to your local SPCA.
