Shirley Ann (Robbins) Nettles

FULTON – Shirley Ann (Robbins) Nettles died Monday November 10, 2025, at Crouse Hospital surrounded by many family members.

Born on May 23, 1944 in Fulton, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ronald K. Nettles. Her eight children: Terri (Daniel) Guernsey, Tammy (Douglas) Feeney, Tracy (David) Dingman, Thomas (Lewanne) Nettles, Tricia (Toby) Cowart, Tiffany (Jason) Wamsley, Tanya (David) Kantrud, Tia (Robert) Jordan, and chosen additional family members Kathleen (Dean) Distin, Beth and Ed Rowell along with 32 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She lived for many happy years with her husband in Fulton, NY.  While raising their children, Shirley was often seen at sporting events, concerts, and school functions.  She became a world traveler, an avid diamond dot crafter, roller blader, and enthusiastic dancer.

She spent 48 years as a register nurse providing care to birthing mothers and their babies at Oswego Hospital. A career that not only impacted her patients, their families, but all who were privileged to work alongside her. She retired at the age of 74.

She was an active member of the Fulton Women’s Club, the Oswego Hospital retired nurses’ group, and the Oswego Catholic High School class of 1962 luncheons.

Services will be Saturday November 29, 2025 at 10:00 am at the Sugar Funeral Home Inc. 224 W. 2^nd St. S. Fulton, NY.  The family has requested no flowers, donations can be made in memory of Shirley Nettles to the Oswego Health Foundation, maternity services.
