FULTON – December 7, 2025, Shirley Belair, 91; one of the most loveable and likeable ladies was welcomed into heaven having passed in the arms of her children after enduring a brief illness.
Shirley was born in Burlington, VT to the late James and Ella (Perkins) Ryan. She was a longtime resident of Fulton, NY; Jamestown, NY and has been a resident of North Carolina since 1991. Shirley enjoyed doing puzzles, coloring and playing games on her tablet. She especially liked playing Words with Friends with her beloved younger sister Pat. Shirley also liked watching Wheel of Fortune, and she was an avid bird watcher with the various strategically staged bird feeders around her home.
Shirley was pre-deceased by her husband: Andre C. “Mike” Belair in 1991, their son: Stephen “Griz” Belair, her siblings: James Ryan Jr. and Margaret “Peg” Breyette; her sister-in-law: Pat Grey and grandson-in-law: Troy Pierce.
She is survived by her children: Thomas (Jo) Belair of Fulton, NY and Cynthia (Robert) Black of NC; her daughter-in-law: Janice Belair of Oswego, NY; her sister: Patricia Ricciardi of Schenectady, NY; sister-in-law: Nilah (Richard) West. Mrs. Belair is also survived by the Best Gifts of her Life; her grandchildren: Rachel Pierce, Marissa (Nate) Donovan, Eric (Alyssa) Belair and Andrea Black; great grandchildren: Kara and Elise Pierce, Simon Donovan, and Elena and Cameron Belair and several nieces and nephews.
All Services will be held privately in the Spring at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton, NY with Deacon Jeff Dean officiating the graveside services.
The Sugar Funeral Home Inc., 224 W. 2nd St. S., Fulton has care of the arrangements.
