
OSWEGO – Terry J. Burnett Sr., 66, of Oswego Town died unexpectedly Friday in the Oswego Hospital.
Terry was born in Oswego the son of the late Junior and Dorothy (Shatraw) Burnett. He was a member of the Laborers International Union of North America, working out of Locals # 214 and #322. He was a former member of the American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. Terry took great pride in volunteering for the St. Joseph Church Festival where he would barbecue the best chickens and cook the salt potatoes working alongside other volunteers. Terry was an excellent outdoorsman, where he especially enjoys the sport of fishing.
He will be forever missed by his wife Elizabeth “Beth” Burnett of Oswego whom he dated for nine years before marrying 16 years ago, he is also survived by his children Terry J. Burnett II of Oswego, Sarah Burnett of Maine,; his grandchildren Terry Burnett III, Jacob Thomas, and Angelina Thomas; his siblings Jerry (Laura) Burnett of Oswego, David (Sharon) Burnett of AK, Randy Burnett of Oswego, Bill (Patti) Burnett of Oswego, Tammy (Jay) Ferguson of Oswego, several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law David (Wendy) Ballard of SC, William Ballard of Missouri, Tom (Chris) Ballard of Oswego.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. 4th. St. Oswego.
In accordance with Terry’s wishes there will be no services.
