William J. Hubbard, 92

FULTON, NY – William J. Hubbard, 92, formerly of Manlius, Fulton, North Syracuse and Liverpool, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday November 14, 2016, at St. Luke Health Services, Oswego, NY.

Mr. Hubbard was born in Hannibal, NY, to the late Walter and Agnes (Andrew) Hubbard.

He had been a Liverpool resident for 18 years and more recently a resident of Fulton for three years prior to moving to Manilus.

In 2015, Mr. Hubbard became a resident of St. Luke Health Services.

William was married to Betty (Colvin) Hubbard for 38 years.

He was a United States veteran having served during World War II in the United States Army stationed in the European Theater.

Mr. Hubbard worked for Crouse Hinds/Cooper Industries, Syracuse, in the Outdoor Lighting Division.

He retired in 1986 after 36 years of employment.

Mr. Hubbard was a past member of the Crouse Hinds Bowling and Horseshoe leagues.

He is survived by his five children: Charles (Jill) Hubbard of South Carolina, Mary (Wendell Haight) Hubbard of South Carolina, David Hubbard of Syracuse, NY, Karen (Ted) Field of South Carolina and Lisa Hubbard of North Syracuse, NY; his sister: Julia Baker or Texas; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hubbard was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Scott, Myrtle O’Grady and Walter Hubbard.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 19, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., Fulton.

Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Sugar Funeral Home, Inc., 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton, with Rev. Tammy Nipper officiating.

Burial be held privately at Fairdale Cemetery, Hannibal.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in remembrance of William to St. Luke Health Services, 299 East River Road, Oswego, NY 13126 or to the VA Hospital, 800 Irving Ave., Syracuse, NY 13210.
