OSWEGO, NY – Yolan Genova, 90, of Oswego, died Sunday morning June 30, 2013, in Oswego Hospital.
Mrs. Genova was born in Lackawanna, NY, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Pomko) Leszak.
Mrs. Genova enjoyed gardening and watching and feeding the birds.
She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Genova was predeceased by her husband, Michael A. Genova in 1995; and her siblings, John Leszak and sister Mary Andzel.
She is survived by her children: Michael A. (Janice) Genova Jr. of Colorado, Mary Genova of Oswego and Michele ( Jim) Hendrickson of Georgia; four grandchildren: Jona, Angelo, Marie and Elizabeth; and her great-great-grandson, Zachary.
Funeral services will be Saturday 9 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Greg Kreinheder.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Friday 4 – 6 p.m. at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
