OSWEGO, NY – Gladys C. Giambo, 91, of Mitchell St., Oswego, died Saturday July 5, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her family after a long illness.
Mrs. Giambo was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Agatino and Grace (Salvatore) Muscolino, and she remained an Oswegonian.
Mrs. Giambo worked in Osted’s Garment Factory, and she was a member of the Ladies Garment Workers’ Union.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church, and the St. Anne’s Society.
Mrs. Giambo was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Giambo, on May 8, 1980.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Giambo of Manchester, NJ; and her daughter, Geraldine McKiernan of Florida; three grandchildren, Michael McKiernan, Dr. Kristy Borawski and Pamela Giambo; and three great-grandchildren, Shannon McKiernan, Kallie McKiernan and Anna Giambo.
Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph’s Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Burial will be at St. Paul’s Cemetery immediately following the mass.
There will be no calling hours.
The arrangements are in the care of the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. Fourth St. Oswego.
