Harold F. Becksted, 76, of Co Rt. 25, Minetto, passed away July 30, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Minetto, NY, he was the son of the late George and Violet (Lawler) Becksted.
He served in the National Guard from 1951 to 1954.
He was employed with the Pipe Fitters Union 273 since 1971, where he worked construction on the 3 nuclear power plants. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local 545.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, farming and was a welding instructor.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon (Schleicher) Becksted; two daughters, Jolene Becksted and Valerie (Becksted) Favata, both of Minetto; a brother, George Becksted Jr. of Oswego; two sisters, Louise Cloonan of Oswego; Elise Becksted of Zephyrhills, Fl; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his younger brothers, John “Fred†Becksted and Karl Becksted.
Services with be held convenience to the family. No calling.
