OSWEGO, NY – Helen C. Hansel, 97, a resident of 135 Lyon St., died on May 16, 2008, at Seneca Hill Manor.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Enwright) Murray and had attended Oswego schools.
She was employed with Conn Knitting for many years.
Mrs. Hansel was a 50-year member of the Catholic Daughters of America and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks Lodge #271.
Surviving are her three sons, Thomas Hansel of Oswego, Timothy Hansel of Oswego, Robert Hansel of Camillus; a daughter, Joan McCrobie of Oswego; nine grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, George, in 1999.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Peter’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
