OSWEGO, NY – Helen L. Schwalm, 84, a resident of 48 E. Schuyler St., passed away on Aug. 8, 2009, at Oswego Hospital.
She was born in Oswego and had attended Oswego schools.
Mrs. Schwalm was totally devoted to taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Leonard Schwalm Sr.; two sons, David (Bonnie) Schwalm Sr. of Baldwinsville and Mark (Sharon) Schwalm of Sarasota Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Leonard Schwalm Jr.; and two grandsons, David Jr. and Michael Schwalm, all of whom were killed by a drunken driver in a motor vehicle accident in 1977.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Dowdle Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
