James F. “Pete” Peterson, 66, 07/04/2008

OSWEGO, NY – James F. “Pete” Peterson, 66 and a resident of 65 Liberty St., Oswego, died Friday July 4, 2008, at his home.

He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Frederick J. “Boots” Peterson and Jane Maybe Smith.

He was the husband of Ann Savage Peterson.

<p>James F. “Pete” Peterson</p>Mr. Peterson had been employed for more than 30 years at Alcan.

Following his retirement from Alcan, Mr. Peterson was employed with the Oswego City School District as a crossing guard.

He was member of the Oswego Elks Lodge, a social member of the VFW Post 5885 and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church.

Mr. Peterson was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

In  addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, James (Lesa) Peterson and Jay (Dina) Peterson both of Oswego; one brother, George Smith of Oswego; his father in-law, Harry Savage of Oswego; five grandchildren, Zachary Eason, Brook Eason, Austen Peterson, Cassandra Peterson and Emily Peterson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Peterson was predeceased by his daughter, Jane F. Eason; his grandson, James J. Eason; three sisters, Laura J. Burger, Fran Reid and Mary Kelly.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7 p.m. at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.

Contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice in Mr. Peterson’s memory.
