OSWEGO, NY – Joseph C. Mittler, 97, a resident of 37 E. Ninth St., died on November 15, 2008, at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Hurley) Mittler and had attended Oswego schools.
Mr. Mittler was a veteran of the United States Army and at one time was a member of the Oswego Fire Department.
He was a member of the K of C #227, the VFW, and was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church.
Surviving are his sister, Catherine Case of Oswego; two nieces, Joanne Case of Oswego and Lynn Streeter of Cicero; and two nephews, John Mittler of Minneola and Tom Mittler of Baldwinsville.
He was predeceased by his brothers, John Mittler in 1997 and Harry Mittler in 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 p.m.
