Josephine Barillo, 87

Josephine Barillo, 87, a lifelong resident of Liberty Street, died Sunday evening in St. Luke Health Service.

Josephine was born in Oswego the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angelina (Pera) Barillo. She was a former secretary at Hammermill, Papertronics, and for Stone and Webster. Josephine was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Oswego. Josephine was a lifelong New York Yankees fan and she never missed a game. She also played fast pitch softball as a young woman.

She was predeceased by her two sisters Grace King, and Frances Brancato, and brothers Peter, James, John, Michael, and Joseph Barillo.

Josephine is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Rose and Thomas Battista of Oswego, and several nieces, and nephews, great nieces, nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 West Fourth Street Oswego.
