OSWEGO, NY – Lea Barney Phillips, 83, died on November 7, 2007, at Oswego Hospital.She was born in Theresa N.Y., on June 30, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Tibble) Simpson.
She was a resident of St. Luke’s and will be fondly remembered by the staff and friends that she had made over the years.
Lea was known for her love of country music and dancing.
She enjoyed yard sales and a good joke.
She had a great love of animals.
Surviving are her three sons, William (Jackie) Richards of Camden, Michael (Martha) Barney of Scriba, Robert (Lorraine) Barney of Hannibal; two sisters, Roselene Parker and Alyce Thompson; and grandchildren, William Robert Barney of Syracuse, Michelle (Jessie) Silva of Rhode Island, Jeffrey (Lisa) Barney of Clifton Springs, Scott (Kathy DelSavio) of Syracuse; and nieces and nephews.
Lea was predeceased by her husbands, Wilbur Barney and Francis Phillips.
At Lea’s request there are no funeral services and calling hours.
