Lena “Peanut” P. Allison, 77, a resident of 247 East Tenth St. Oswego, passed away March 15, 2010 at St. Luke’s Health Services.

Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late William and Lena (Knowlton) Shurtliff.

She was a life resident and attended local schools.

Lena worked as a Machine Operator for Comstock Foods for over 28 years retiring in 1988.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She served on its Alter Guild, a member of the Choir and the Bright and Cheerful Circle.

Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Mann of Indiana; three sons, Jessie Hill of Oswego; James Allison Jr. of Oswego; Blaine Allison of Port Charles, Louisiana; two sisters, Edith Miller of Rochester and Grace Familo of Oswego; two brothers, William Shurtliff of Oswego and Robert Shurtliff of Rochester; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Allison; a daughter, Bobby Jo Donahue and two sisters, Wilma Farella and Helen Lawson.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30a.m. Friday at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Spring burial will be in Peck’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Thursday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
