Lois N. “Terry” Aldrich, age 94, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Glendale Nursing Home.
She was born on March 20, 1924, in Niagara Falls, NY, and was the daughter of the late Preston Hibbard Saxton Chapman and Alice Gertrude Cornell and was the beloved wife of 67 years of the late Douglas Aldrich.
Due to her father’s work transfer, Lois moved to Massena, NY, at age 8.
She went on to graduate from the local high school in 1942 and then on to attend Cornell University and University of Michigan.
In 1948 she began teaching mechanical drawing in the Waverly school district and did so until 1951 when she married her beloved Douglas.
Lois was an active and artistic soul.
She loved creating whether it be one of her amazing dishes in the kitchen, a detailed piece of needle work, an ornate sewing project or a beautiful painting.
Lois was also an active NYS officer with the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Betsey L. (Scott) Snyder of Clifton Park; and adored granddaughter, Alexis R. (Robert K.) Platt of Washington, D.C.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
