CASSADAGA, NY – Lora Lee Lyne Haines was born in Dunkirk NY on August 10, 1944, to Leigh Albert and Bessie Mae Clark Lyne. She died in Melbourne, FL on December 24, 2023, after a brief illness.
Lora grew up in Dunkirk and Fredonia NY. She spent her early years on a small farm (Lyne Poultry and Grape Farm). After high school, she completed one year of business school and held several secretarial positions early in her adult life. After moving to Fulton NY, she was the co-owner of Pollock-Sheldon Insurance Agency and lived in Fulton for many years before relocating to Florida. An avid seamstress, she made beautiful handcrafted clothing and gifts for family and friends.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Lyne Jagoda, Marjorie Helen Lyne, and brother, George Clark Lyne.
She is survived by her daughter, Rae Haines Howard (R. Aaron Howard) of Satellite Beach, FL and son,
Paul A. Haines of Houston, TX as well as her grandchildren, Joshua Howard, Kara Howard (Christopher Fallows) and Jack Howard; one great-grandchild, her brother, Keith Sheldon and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and burial will be in Cassadaga NY in the summer.
