Lucy Nelson Besley, 92, of Phoenix, NY, and Sandy Pond, died September 12, 2009.
She was an owner/operator of Lucy’s Fashion Shop, Phoenix, NY and two other stores during her career, retiring to St. Petersburg FL in 1978. Lucy returned to Phoenix in 1993. She treasured her family, and enjoyed baking for them. Lucy had a love for animals too.
Lucy was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Nelson in 1980; and her second husband, Lewis Besley in 2004; her great-grandson, Nicholas Bergman in 1999.
Survivng are her daughter, June Dillon of Phoenix; six grandchildren, Colleen Dillon Bergman, Anne Dillon Duprey, Kathy Dillon Coleman, Patty Dillon Giarrusso, Emerson James Dillon, III, and Mike Dillon; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday at the Allanson-Glanville-Tappan Funeral Home, 431 Main St., Phoenix. Services are at 10:30 am on Wednesday in the funeral home.
