Michael J Colasurdo

OSWEGO – Michael J Colasurdo, 77, of Khun Han, Thailand passed away on June 18, 2023.  Mike was born and raised in his beloved hometown of Oswego, NY to the late Michael and Frances Colasurdo.

Mike had an adventurous childhood and never forgot his memories of growing up in Oswego. So much so, that he would later in life publish two books to document his memories and gratitude to his family, many friends, and the city of Oswego. During his teenage and early adult years Mike became an outstanding athlete. He was most accomplished in high school baseball and football, but he truly excelled in any sport he would play.

After high school, Mike would serve in the U.S. Marine Corp, and then ventured out into the world.  After a few years of carefree and social employment at a high end Fort Lauderdale restaurant, he became a certified commodity investment broker.  Mike enjoyed many very successful years in the investment field, which led him to employment throughout the U.S. and eventually Thailand. While in Thailand, Mike met and married Duan. Together they had two daughters, Nicole and Michelle, and Mike finally realized a dedicated and loving family life of his own.

Mike always had an infectious personality, which made it easy for him to meet people and make friends. He would often return to Oswego, with his favorite pastime being spending as much time as possible having cocktails and reminiscing with old friends at Vona’s, Canale’s, or the Press Box

Mike was also a lifelong Yankee fan and closely followed them from halfway around the world.

Michael is survived by his wife Duan and children Angela, Nicole, and Michelle; granddaughters Rachael and Bella ; brothers Tyrone (Sheryl) and Frank (Deborah) Colasurdo of Oswego, and sister Terry Hicklin of Harrisburg, PA. He is survived by several close nephews and nieces.

Services were held in Thailand and there will be a Celebration of life for Mike on August 6, 2023 2-4 pm at Vona’s Restaurant.
