OSWEGO, NY – Richard H. Branshaw Sr., 75, a resident of 211 E. Fifth St., passed away on Sept. 21, 2009, at his home after a brief illness.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Donald Branshaw and Gertrude (Kane) Branshaw of Oswego and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
He was employed with Carrier Corporation for 43 years.
Mr. Branshaw was a veteran of the Unites States Army serving as a paratrooper from 1954-57.
He liked to fish and hunt and was an avid gardener.
Surviving besides his mother are his wife of 52 years, the former Jean Delahunt; one son, Richard Branshaw Jr. of Oswego; one daughter, Delores Richards of Texas; three sisters, Beverly Branshaw of Florida, Cheryl (Phillip) Diehl and Karen (Jan) Gibson both of the Town of Oswego; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two of his children, Victoria Ann and Robert Joseph.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. from St. Peter’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
