Richard T. “Dick†Thorpe, 58, a resident of Co Rt. 31, Oswego, went to be with the Lord, July 24, 2009, surrounded by his family.
Born in Oswego, NY, he was the son of the late Jack and Helen (Davis) Thorpe.
Dick was employed as an Electrician with the Local #43, he served on its Executive Board and taught the apprenticeship class.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He was an avid craftsman, N.Y. Giants fan, Yankees and NASCAR fan.
He was a member of the New Covenant Community Church where he served as a Trustee and a board member of its Christian School

Daughters – Joanna Elizabeth Thorpe; Christin Anne Thorpe
Sisters – Anita “Sis†(John) Engle, Cicero, NY; Patricia (Randy) Howard, Zuni, VA
Grandchildren – Tyler Barycki, Isabella Thorpe, and Alexander Thorpe
1 niece, 5 nephews, 2 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law
Aunt – Mary Agnus “Mernie†Davis Galvin

Funeral Services will be held 10a.m. Tuesday at the New Covenant Community Church, Oswego. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 2-4p.m and 6-8p.m. Monday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St. Oswego.
