Richard V. “Dick” Legg, 63, 08/16/2009

OSWEGO, NY – Richard V. “Dick” Legg, 63, a resident of 56 Mexico Point Drive West, died on Aug. 16, 2009, at Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Verne and Elizabeth (Comerford) Legg.

He was a graduate of Kingsford Park School and Oswego High School.

He was a member of Laborers’ Local #214 for more than 30 years working on area construction projects.

Mr. Legg was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Marines.

He was a charter member of the V.F.W. in Mexico.

He was an avid reader who enjoyed fishing, boating and hunting.

Surviving are three sons, Christopher and Joseph Legg both of Oswego and Brian Legg of Buffalo; a sister, Charlene (Michael) Werth of Mexico; his former wife, Linda Legg of Oswego; a stepdaughter, Kim Patrick of Oswego; two nephews, Benjamin Werth of Astoria and Jeffrey Werth of Ft. Lauderdale; one aunt; one uncle; and cousins.

A celebration of life in honor of Mr. Legg will take place on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the V.F.W. park on Route 3 in Mexico.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
