Richard Zufelt, 69; of Thompson Rd., Oswego died Thursday at the Oswego Hospital.
He was born in Boylston, NY and he has been a resident of Oswego Town for the past 10 years. Mr. Zufelt was employed as a Cook for Ritz Diner, Oswego and Humphrey’s Hideaway, Oswego. He was pre-deceased by his son Peter G. Zufelt in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Jeanette Zufelt of Oswego, 3 sons: Richard (Heidi) Zufelt Jr., of Central Square, Eddie (Jim Bater) Zufelt of Syracuse, Master Sgt. Ronald (Mercedes) Zufelt of Italy, 1 daughter Kelly (Andres Perez) Zufelt of Fairdale, NY, his siblings Dennis Zufelt of Central Square, Mabel O’Brien of Lacona, Marilyn Clark of Holly, NY; 9 grandchildren: Andres III, Antonio, Peter, Jennifer, Nicole, Zachary, Roxanne, Ryan, Samantha; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 AM Tuesday at Oswego Town Rural Cemetery with Pastor Michael Tollerton officiating. Burial will be in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery, Oswego. Calling hours will be conducted 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, 147 W. 4th St. Oswego, NY.
