OSWEGO, NY – Robert C. Wood, 78, a resident of 57 E. Oneida St., died on Oct. 30, 2008, at Oswego Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Fulton, he was a son of the late Raymond and Anita (Hulett) Wood.
He was a graduate of the Fulton high school and the Teachers College at Oswego.
Mr. Wood was a science teacher for the Oswego City School District for 31 years.
He was a member of the U.S. Army Ski Patrol and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Mr. Wood was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus #227.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Joan Esseltine; two sons, Robert (Cheryl) Wood of Buffalo and Jeffrey Wood of Oswego; a daughter, Colleen Peck of Orlando; a brother, William (Beverly) Wood of Fulton; and two granddaughters, Melissa and Stephanie Wood.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. from St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in Mount Adnah Cemetery, Fulton.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
