Thaddeus “Ted” Dudek, 55

FRELINGHUYSEN TWP., NEW JERSEY — Thaddeus “Ted” Dudek passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, in Little Rock, Ark., after a long, courageous and inspiring battle with cancer. He was 55.

Born on Aug. 7, 1953, in Oswego, N.Y., Mr. Dudek grew up in Fulton, N.Y., and later moved to New Brunswick to attend Rutgers University, where he majored in environmental planning and landscape architecture. While attending Rutgers, he was a member of the varsity crew team. Mr. Dudek has been a resident of New Jersey for the past 30 years. For the past 29 years, Mr. Dudek served as principal and vice president with CMX Engineering (formerly Schoor DePalma Inc.), a multi-discipline design firm. He was also a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, the American Planning Association, the American Society of Landscape Architects, and the National Association of Environmental Professionals. He has actively participated in local sports as a coach for soccer and baseball in the Blairstown area during the time his children participated in sports.

The son of the late Thaddeus L. Dudek, Mr. Dudek is survived by his wife, Crystal; his daughter, Jessica; his son, Court and his wife, Sara of Westminster, Md.; his mother, Constance Dudek of Lima, N.Y.; and his sister, Cynthia Schofield of Lima, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, Route 517, Andover Borough. Interment will follow at Tranquility Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton.

A memorial service will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 16 at Kirkpatrik Chapel, Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
