Tracy Elkin

Tracy Marie (Jackson) Elkin, 58, of Zephyrhills Florida, formerly of Fulton, New York, passed away at home on Wednesday November 4th, 2020.

Tracy was born October 31st, 1962 in Syracuse, New York. She was the daughter of the late Neil O Jackson and Phyllis E. (Maloney) Jackson. Tracy was married to Michael J. Elkin who passed away in October 2016.

She is survived by her three children Ashley Ann Elkin, Anthony Scott Elkin, and Kayla May Elkin, and her first born daughter Christina Marie Elkin who passed at birth, also her sister Lisa (Jackson) Searor, brother-in-law Thomas Searor, brothers Scott, Neil and Brian Jackson and several nieces and nephews, including Kathleen Searor and Thomas Searor Jr.

Tracy loved her children and was involved in their daily lives. She was the Mom everyone wanted to have and treated her children’s friends as family. She was excited that her son Anthony was engaged. Tracy also loved cooking and gardening. She enjoyed baking, Holidays were her favorite time of year. She loved Christmas.

Tracy had a passion for learning. She earned her degrees at SUNY Oswego and Empire State College and studied US History and Native American History. She was working on her Ph.D. Dissertation at the time of her death. It was on the need to preserve Heirloom Seeds for future generations and move away from genetically modified seeds. She spent hours researching and speaking with Native Americans Historians via the internet and email to learn about the history of seed preservation and importance to early Native American Populations.

Memorial Services will be held on November 24th from 4-7pm at the New Haven Methodist Church 4233 NY 104, New Haven New York. Memorial Dinner to follow in the Church Banquet Hall. Tracy loved flowers and plants so flowers welcome.
