Wendy (Baldwin) Tallents

Wendy (Baldwin) Tallents passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of only 67, two months shy of her 68th birthday. Born as the youngest child to Doris and Raymond Baldwin, she spent most of her life in Fulton, NY before relocating to Oak Island, NC to be closer to her children, grandchildren and the ocean in 2016.

She was a force, she felt passionately about the world, her children, her grandchildren, cooking delicious food, eating the delicious food she cooked, music, dancing and walking on the beach.
Cooking was her love language; she loved nothing more than to share the food she made with the people she loved and she passed that love of food on to her daughters and granddaughters.

As a young mother in the early 1980’s she worked tirelessly to provide her children with a good life, as she evolved through her own life, she was always a supportive mother, mother-in-law and grandmother often attending her grandchildren’s sporting and arts events.  Watching her granddaughters sing was a great source of happiness for Wendy. She had the soul of an artist, whether she be cooking, weaving, creating stained glass art or sewing, making things with her hands brought her great joy. Her laugh was infectious, and she was capable of immeasurable delight. She loved music and could often be found dancing in the garage to the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughn at her home in Oak Island with her husband.

She is survived by her husband Brace Tallents, her eldest daughter Jessica Gaffney and partner John Lothes, her middle daughter Sonya and husband Kyle Henry, her youngest daughter Blake and husband Kelly Fulcher and her grandchildren Abigail, Mason, Ralf, Norah, Brayson, Landyn, and RayLynn.   Wendy is survived by her sister Beverly and husband Sal Cavallaro, her brother John Bladwin and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.  Wendy is gone too soon and will be so missed.

In lieu of flowers the family would like you to consider a donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
